Galapagos3

Wet
landing at Punta Espinosa, Fernandina Is.which rose 1 m. in 1981 from volcanic activity- stepped over piles of Iguanas-saw a flightless cormorant couple shading their chick with diminutivie wings; -beautiful orangish Lava Cactus against black lava; a whale skeleton, stingrays, turtles. Later, went to Tagus Cove,Isabella Is.-climbed 133 steps to Darwin salt Lake-of mysterious origin- Julian shooed away male sea lion basking on stairs. Cove a stopping place for sailors-left graffiti onrocks, some dating 1836. Afterward floated along cliffs in increasing rough water, visited caves, saw Chocolate Chip & Devil sea stars and other marine life in clear waters and on adjacent cliffs. Observed Iguana head-butting another off 15-foot rock into sea; Swallow-Tail gull; Yellow Warbler, Noddy (Sooty) terns, spiny sea snails-penguins turned their backs to us. Returned to Coral II, sailed for Bartolome Is-passed beautiful Vincente Rocha vermilion cliffs glowing in sunset- moonrise behind. Took a group picture. Had a cocktail Party as we crossed equator.
